The Prepare for Success website offers tips and advice, as well as English practice, for international students in UK universities.
Acivity 1: Take the Quiz in the Chapter titled: Listening to Lectures to find out whether you are a good student.
Click the show feedback for each question. The feedback offers advice and tips.
After you have done this look at Activity 2: Clues to help you understand a lecture.
Listen for the statements on the left, spoken by the lecturer, and think about how they can help your understanding of the whole lecture. Then select a lecture statement from the list and match it with a description of what the lecturer is doing from the list on the right.
Check your
answers and read the feedback. There is also a transcript of the lecture with notes.
