Today we did the practice test for the final listening assessment. You should now be familiar with the structure of the test.
Below I have given you some links to practise your listening. I will, as before, put up videos to practise section 3, which was the section the class found most difficult. Remember for this section, you do not have the questions first. You can only listen twice and take notes. After you have listened I will give you the questions. You will have some time to answer the questions.
- The first link is from WebCT: from your home page: click on B2 Online materials. There are three listenings with instructions. Follow the instructions to complete the practice.
2. Examen English: FCE Listening part 1 and 4
This is the closest, though not the same, to section 1 and 2 of the final assessment.
FCE listening part 2 is the closest, but not the same, to section 3 of the final assessment.
The IELTS part 2 is the closest, but not the same, to section 1 and 2 of the final assessment.
3. More general practice: ESL LAB. This site offers a lot of practice with interactive questions. Choose medium or hard level to test yourself.
Below I have coped the links for some possible good practice:
Medium:
English Language Centre
IT and Computers
Medical Advice
Hard:
University degree
Car Repairs
Job hunting
Refinancing Mortgage loans
Your final assessments are not taken directly from any exam. Section 3 is to test your lecture note taking skills, which we have practised in class every week.
Please post a comment below if you have a more useful site to practice.
